Clare, a 48 year old mum from Manchester, had spent years trying every diet under the sun – SlimFast shakes, Weight Watchers, even the Rosemary Conley diet. While some worked briefly, nothing ever stuck, leaving her frustrated and lacking confidence.
But in just eight months using weight loss medication through Voy, Clare has lost an incredible 25kg (55lbs) and, for the first time, feels truly in control of her weight.

Months’ of research led me to Voy
I first heard about Voy through a friend who was using it and seeing great results. That got me researching the medication for months (seven, to be exact). I wanted to make sure I understood everything before committing. In the end, I chose Voy because of the level of support they offer, and I’m so glad I did.
At first, I was mainly worried about side effects, but I realised the risks of carrying extra weight were far greater than anything treatable. I decided to just go for it, and honestly, I wish I’d done it sooner.
First impressions are everything
From day one, Voy impressed me with how responsive and professional they were. I’ve tried other weight loss medication providers before, but I could never get hold of them when I needed advice, which was really worrying. With Voy, I knew I had real experts available whenever I had questions or concerns, which gave me so much peace of mind.
As for side effects, they were minimal: a couple of headaches, a dry mouth for the first few weeks and the occasional wave of nausea that passed quickly. I made sure to stay on top of my water intake, and everything settled down on its own without needing support from the clinicians.

My month-by-month journey with weight loss medication
Week 1: I was so nervous to start the medication that it sat in my fridge for a couple of days. I kept wondering, “what’s going to happen to me?” When I finally took it, nothing dramatic happened, but within a few hours, I felt different. The food noise that had consumed me for years just stopped. I wasn’t obsessing over what to eat next, and as the days went on, I realised I wasn’t even thinking about food at all.
Week 2: At first, I found it hard to eat, but as my body adjusted, I noticed something surprising – I was naturally craving healthier foods. I used to love fried food and would order a Chinese two or three times a week, but suddenly, the thought of it made me feel queasy. Instead of forcing myself to eat, I focused on getting the right nutrition, making healthier versions of my favorite meals. I quickly learned that if I didn’t eat enough, the side effects hit harder, and I’d feel sick.
Month 3: By this point, everything felt more natural. I had gone from a size 22 to a size 16, and I felt amazing. Apart from taking my dose, I didn’t have to think about the medication. Tracking my food had become second nature, and I knew I was on the right track nutritionally. The changes were happening, and I finally felt in control.
Month 6: At six months in, my weight loss had started to slow, but I wasn’t worried. Some weeks, I maintained, and there were even times I gained a pound or so! But I learned through Voy’s coaching and clinical support that weight fluctuations happen for so many reasons, like hormones. Instead of panicking, I stayed consistent and trusted the process.
Month 8: My weight loss has slowed down more, and I’ve had a few maintenance weeks, but I don’t mind. I’ve given myself until the end of the year to reach my goal, and I know I’ll get there. More importantly, my eating is under control, and that’s the key piece of the puzzle.
I still enjoy chocolate and crisps occasionally, but now it’s all about balance. In the past, I would restrict myself so much that I’d end up bingeing and feeling awful. Instead of counting points or "sins," I focus on understanding nutrition and what my body actually needs.
