Amy Jones, 40, from Macclesfield, is a prime example of how life can change in unexpected ways. What began as a simple bridal dress shopping trip led to a life-altering experience with her being asked to shoot some photos for the brand, and eventually, a career as a plus-size model.
Despite feeling confident in her job, portion control and exercise soon fell by the wayside, and Amy began to feel heavy and lethargic. She has been taking Wegovy with Voy for nearly a year now. In that time she’s lost an incredible 22kg – and she’s here to tell us how.

Looking good vs. feeling good
I’ve always been comfortable in my own skin, but that didn’t mean I didn’t want to feel better in it. It was never about my appearance – what bothered me was the constant sluggishness, the lack of energy. Even running for a bus felt like an impossible task.
My husband and I were both carrying an extra 40kg or so, and we knew our eating habits were a big part of the problem. We cooked healthy meals, but our portions were massive. And I probably drank more than I should have. It was fun, don’t get me wrong, but it wasn’t doing me any good.
The turning point was getting a Peloton bike. A big investment, but that first ride made me realise I wanted to do more, so I started researching ways to lose weight.
Why I chose Voy over other brands
I saw an ad for one of Voy’s competitors on Facebook and it got me looking into different brands. After being rejected for weight loss medication by the NHS, I knew I had to explore other options.
I compared a few different providers, but Voy stood out to me. Their approach felt holistic – not just about the medication, but about real, lasting change. They set me up with a dietitian, had me send photos of my current body shape, and did a lot of due diligence before prescribing anything. It felt reassuring, like they were focused on finding the right treatment for me, not just handing out a quick fix.
“This is the first time I'm confident I'm not going to put the weight back on.”
This never felt like an easy way out; it was part of a bigger lifestyle shift. Weight loss isn’t just about medication; it’s about addressing your relationship with food and exercise. And Voy has provided the structure and support to do that in a safe, sustainable way. It’s given me a bit of breathing room to make the bigger changes I needed to act on.
A slow start made all the difference
I was nervous about side effects at first, but the conversations I had with the Voy team helped me understand what to expect. My clinician started me on a slow, gradual dose, and although I had a couple of days where I felt slightly nauseous, it passed quickly.
After the first few weeks, I started noticing the "food noise" fading into the background. This made everything so much easier. Knowing what to expect – some mild nausea at the start – helped me feel more confident and trusting in the process.
